On the flip side, the companion side stories are so damn good. You see Rookwood at a random time when Logdok has the book giving it Ranrok, and then again, don't see him until you are headed to hogsmeade to make the Ancient Wand, which leads to his boss fight. You see Rookwood and Harlow the first time you take a trip to Hogsmeade, and you don't see Harlow again until his boss fight.

It also doesn't help that Ranrok, Rookwood, and Harlow aren't exactly popping up so that you feel their presence. Learning about all this stuff that happened in the past, made that part of the story feel very disconnected with what was going on in present time. The main story, for me, had a problem of not being very interesting because it felt like it was a means to an end of a storyline that didn't involve me.I just happened to be an accessory to help the people who the story was actually affecting.

I definitely biased due to the hype of diving into the wizarding world with a proper game that we've all deserved. I remember telling a friend who was waiting on the game, that I thought it was an easy 9/10 and I hadn't even left Hogwarts Castle yet. I wanted to wait a bit to give a review because I didn't want the honeymoon phase to effect my score.

I went pretty hard on the first playthrough because I was so excited about the game, so I put the game down until recently, waiting for some patches to see what gets fixed, and just last night, I finished a "dark" playthrough. So, I beat Hogwarts Legacy about a month ago now.
